Thank you Allan for connecting us to them both in such an amazing way. My journal the day I was leaving reads “without a doubt the most beautiful thing about Nepal isn’t her magnificent mountains, but instead, her beautiful people.” He’s such a top guy he even had a tribute song written for him by his groupies! He was never rushing us, but instead purposefully stopped us to look up to enjoy the scenery - even pointing out rare musk deer in the forest.Īllan and his amazing team was what made our experience everything that it was. His focus was always on the well-being and safety of his team. He encouraged and motivated us so positively along the way.

We experienced something so much deeper than a ‘trek’.Īl humbly got alongside each of us. It’s moments like this that run so much deeper in my heart than ticking the box on a bucket list. We cried happy tears as we achieved our goals together and celebrated with a night of beers and dancing at the ‘Let’s Go, Lukla Disco’ on our return. I sat at a tea house holding his friend’s beautiful little bubba as we sat and talked with the locals. He introduced us to the most beautiful Nepalese people, and took us into their homes and villages. Al took us so much further than Base Camp. He quickly became a friend that we laughed until we cried with each night over a game of cards or a hilarious story. His big beaming smile, his genuine interest and care for those on his team as we sat around and chatted for hours made us feel instantly like we’d know him for years.Īl got to know each of us personally and helped us to achieve our goals. This was all thanks to Allan and his team.įrom the moment we arrived at our hotel and met Al, we knew we were in the best hands. Three weeks later I flew out shedding tears after having fallen in love with the country, the culture and the people in it. I flew into Nepal wanting to stand at the Base Camp flags.
